From art school to tattooing

Aurélia has drawn since childhood. Early on she devoted herself to reproducing reality: observation, line, then portraiture and life drawing. After two years at art school she moved towards tattooing, a medium that lets her make a living from her true passion — handmade creation and the reproduction of the real — while practising the craft exactly as she likes it.

She has now been training in this craft for nine years. It took roughly six years of practice to reach on skin the level of realism she had mastered on paper. This demanding, patient passage from drawing to skin defines her practice.

Detail as a language: gradients, textures, depth

What Aurélia loves above all is spending hours on gradients, textures, sheen, volumes and the depth of an image. Reaching the perfection of the real is her goal, whatever the subject — portrait, neoclassical sculpture, animal, botanical or composition. Meticulousness is not a constraint: it is the very heart of her black and grey micro-realism work.

She is also drawn to an almost architectural dimension in her compositions: highly realistic, self-contained pieces linked by an anatomical or architectural drawing, sometimes mixed with text to vary visuals and scale. The human body, complex and unique, becomes a living design surface.

The body as a living surface

Tattooing a body is a challenge Aurélia embraces: the result is marked for life and rests on the trust of the person. She experiences it not as pressure but as an encouragement to aim as true as possible. A tattoo stays alive: it evolves and shifts over time in ways no one fully controls. Her goal as an artist is to understand that process and its variations to deliver an ideal, lasting result.

The human experience: trust, support, intimacy

Beyond the technical act, Aurélia places the relationship at the centre. Understanding the project, the story behind it, the meaning it holds for the person, and supporting them with care and professionalism before, during and after the session: for her, tattooing carries an intimate, almost psychological dimension that must be handled with respect and care.

It is these unique, authentic moments, the trust and the gratitude of clients, that feed her as an artist and push her to progress. Every request is also a creative challenge: giving shape to a drawing that does not yet exist, with her vision and the limits set by the person or their body — a frame that becomes a freedom.

Declining, reframing, proposing: an assumed vision

Aurélia keeps the freedom to decline a project too far from her world or skills, out of respect for both the client and the final quality — even if it means referring it to a more suitable artist. This is rare: most people who contact her already appreciate the way she works. More often, she reframes a request that does not fit at first glance into a version true to her style. Nothing is imposed: every person receives her artistic vision and advice through a genuine exchange.
